Brief History

Our agency has been in existence for over 8 years. In addition to a part-time manager, we rely solely on volunteers to man the Center, procure food, handle all reporting requirements and raise funds through the generosity of individuals and organizations in our own community.

Our Funding

We receive assistance from Euclid churches and businesses, as well as auxiliary groups. We are extremely pleased and proud of the contributions made by individuals.

Grants

We have received grants from Catholic Charities and the Hunger Network. The grant receipts go to our food purchases at the Foodbank. A small reimbursement is received for all USDA food distributed.

Sources of Foodstuff

An allocation from the Harvest for Hunger Drive purchases food from the Cleveland Foodbank. Supplies are replenished through the generosity of the annual USPS postal drive and periodic food drives from various organizations, schools, civic groups and churches.

Our Clients

Households that are classified as hungry are those in which adults have decreased the quality and quantity of food they consume because of lack of money to the point where they are quite likely to be hungry on a frequent basis, or in which children’s intake has been reduced due to lack of family financial resources, to the point that children are likely to be hungry on a regular basis and adults’ food intake is severely reduced.

The ability to obtain enough food for an active, healthy life is the most basic of human needs. Food- insecure households cannot achieve this fundamental element of well-being. They are the ones in our country most likely to be hungry, undernourished, and in poor health, and the ones most in need of assistance.

Not surprisingly, many reported having to make choices between buying food and paying for other necessities of life.
